چکیده

In this paper, a ‘‘third generation’’ benchmark problem that focuses on the control of wind excited response of a tall building, using the Model Predictive Control ~MPC! scheme, is presented. A 76 story, 306 m tall concrete office tower proposed for the city of Melbourne, Australia, is being used to demonstrate the effectiveness of MPC. The MPC scheme is based on an explicit use of a prediction model of the system response to obtain the control actions by minimizing an objective function. Optimization objectives in MPC include minimization of the difference between the predicted and desired response trajectories, and the control effort subjected to prescribed constraints. By incorporating input/output hard constraints, the MPC scheme provides an optimal control force that satisfies the prescribed

Controlling structures by inverse adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system and MR dampers

To control structures against wind and earthquake excitations, Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference Systems and Neural Networks are combined in this study. The control scheme consists of an ANFIS inverse model of the structure to assess the control force. Considering existing ANFIS controllers, which require a second controller to generate training data, the authors’ approach does not need anot...

Structural control benchmark problem: Phase II—Nonlinear smart base-isolated building subjected to near-fault earthquakes

Many branches of engineering, mathematics, and sciences, have relied on benchmark problems as a standard means to compare different solution techniques. Since 1996, the ASCE Structural Control and Monitoring Committee and Task Group on Benchmark Problems, the U.S. Panel on structural control, and IASCM have developed a series of benchmark control problems that offer a set of carefully modeled r...

Dynamic Stabilization of Wind Farms Deploying Static Synchronous Series Compensator

Encountering series-compensated transmission lines, sub-synchronous resonance (SSR) may strike the power system by jeopardizing its stability and mechanical facilities. This paper aims to verify the capability of static synchronous series compensator (SSSC) in mitigating the mechanical and electrical oscillations such as SSR in wind farm integrations. A wind turbine with a self–excited inductio...

Space Vector Control Scheme of Three Level ZSI Applied to Wind Energy Systems

In this paper the Space Vector Control Scheme is implemented for a Wind Energy System using Three Level Impedance Source Inverter (ZSI). The wind energy system uses a Self Excited Induction generator (SEIG) which is the most emerging application in the field of Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS). The proposed system is modelled with a generator-side Diode Bridge Rectifier and a Stand-Alone si...

Active and reactive power control via currents of a rotor’s d and q components with nonlinear predictive control strategy in a doubly fed induction generator based on wind power system

Wind energy today, has attracted widespread interest from among a variety of sources of renewable energy in the world. Owing to the increasing demand for production of electrical energy for electricity networks by using wind power, it is essential that wind power plants are actively incorporated in the network’s performance using an appropriate control system. In general, these wind power p...
